Legal Basis

  1. The Saint Lucia Citizenship Act passed both houses of Parliament in August of 2015. The regulations regarding Citizenship by Investment in Saint Lucia are contained in Statutory Instrument No.89 of 2015. The constitutional Act permits the Government of St Lucia to grant dual citizenship to any foreign national who can satisfy the necessary investment criterions. OPTION 1: NON-REFUNDABLE CONTRIBUTION TO NATIONAL ECONOMIC FUND (NEF)

Main applicant — US$ 100,000

Main applicant and spouse — US$ 140,000

Main applicant, spouse, and up to two other qualifying dependents — US$ 150,000

Each additional qualifying dependent applying with the main applicant, spouse, and two other qualifying dependents — US$ 15,000

Each additional qualifying dependent — US$ 25,000

OPTION 2: REAL ESTATE

An amount of USD 300,000 has to be invested in a government-approved real estate development and be held for 5 years.

In addition to the purchase of real estate there are government fees to be paid 

Main applicant — US$ 30,000

Main applicant with spouse — US$ 45,000

Each dependent aged 18 and over — US$ 10,000

Each dependent 17 and older — USD 5,000

Each subsequent family member after sixth — USD 10,000

OPTION 3: NON-INTEREST BEARING GOVERNMENT BONDS

St Lucia is the only Caribbean country that permits you to obtain a second passport by purchasing government bonds. The investor will not receive any interest against the bond, and he/she must hold the bond for a minimum of five years. The minimum investment required through this route is US$ 500,000.

DUE DILIGENCE

Compulsory background checks are payable to the Government who appoints a third-party due diligence agency. These agencies use various international and local law enforcement sources such as Interpol, World-Check and other Government agencies. These fees are payable upon the submission of the application.

Spouse – US$ 7,500

Dependents over 18 years – US$ 5,000
